LONDON, UK – August 4, 2016 – ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë once again demonstrates its continued commitment to the Oil & Gas sector supply chain with a new service to support NDT companies and in-house NDT departments with independent certification.

ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂëBreda, NL now offers automatic, ultrasonic testing (AUT) calibration verification services, to ensure that clients are able to deliver accurate weld qualification data. This new service demonstrates Element’s commitment to enhancing its ability to deliver a full range of testing services to the pipeline industry, from Destructive testing and Weld Verification, to AUT and Coatings Qualification testing, through to Failure Analysis.

ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂëBreda’s AUT validation service delivers commercial efficiencies through reduced turnaround time and higher accuracy. Significantly, client micro-slice samples are retained for future analysis through the use of waterjet cutting techniques, rather than the common grinding techniques used in this market.

Rod Martin, Element’s Executive Vice President, Oil & Gas, comments: “Element’s position within the Oil & Gas supply chain ensures we have a very close relationship with clients from the largest Majors, through to the very agile, niche service providers. By working closely with NDT companies and in-house NDT departments, we can give them independent analysis of the accuracy of their data, as they look to characterize weld flaws in pipelines.

“We remain committed to acting as a trusted testing partner for the Oil & Gas sector. By leveraging our knowledge and capabilities in-house to these new services, we are anticipating new requirements from clients and strengthening their ability to act competitively in their markets.”

ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂëBreda also delivers a range of other industry-critical services to the Oil & Gas sector, including materials testing, specialist fracture mechanics testing, 'fitness for service' Engineering Critical Assessments (ECA) and onsite materials testing and replica investigation services.

The AUT service is covered by ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂëBreda’s scope of accreditation for NEN-EN-ISO/IEC 17025
